"The Return Of The Repressed" the definition.

The act of repressing or the state of being repressed.
  1. Psychology. The unconscious exclusion of painful impulses, desires, or fears from the conscious mind.
  2. This can be triggered by a certain date, place or emotion and can normally result in a death.

  1. Very brief and not related to horror. Freud thought we all have to repress some of our most primitive desires and emotions in order to take our place in society. So infant rages etc are repressed (we cannot recall our early childhood). Does horror allow us to experience these things again, in a safe context?
